MOPPETS

MOPPETS is our childcare program. Our loving and dedicated childcare workers strive to provide a positive experience in a preschool like setting with age appropriate games, songs and fun while their moms enjoy the MOPS meeting. All of our MOPPETS workers are volunteers and we are very grateful for their dedication and commitment!
MOPPETS LOTTERY

Our Rogers MOPS group has always strived to ensure complete coverage of our MOPPETS so that no mom has to do a rotation in MOPPETS.  Despite our best intentions, that cannot always be the case.  There are a variety of circumstances as to why complete coverage would not be available for a particular meeting.  We as mothers all know that our plan may not always be the same as Gods plan for us.

After much brainstorming we have decided to implement a MOPPETS lottery system created by the Pleasant Valley MOPS group.

The lottery works as follows:

All moms who have a child in our MOPPET program will have their name put in a bowl.  This rotation will be called THE FIRST LOTTERY.
Throughout the month you will receive emails noting if we know in advance of any amount of volunteers needed to cover the next meeting.  This will allow anyone in MOPS who knows of a volunteer who can work to get in contact with us to get a particular spot covered.  If you provide a person to work a spot in one of our meetings, your name will be taken out of THE FIRST LOTTERY.
If any mom wishing to volunteer to get their turn out of the way, they are free to do so and their name will be taken out of THE FIRST LOTTERY.  If anyone who finds a volunteer that can work an entire semester their name will be taken out of not only our FIRST LOTTERY but any subsequent lottery needed.
Before each meeting we will determine what our need is to fill MOPPET volunteer spots.  If we determine there is in fact a need we will draw a name from the bowl for coverage.  For example, if one MOPPET worker calls in sick the morning of our meeting then we will draw the names of two moms in our meeting.  One mom will work from 9:30 to 10:30 and then the second mother will work from 10:30 to 11:30.  This will ensure that no mom misses an entire meeting.  Any mother that has to work will still get some benefit out of the meeting.
If the year progresses and we run out of names in our bowl, we will then put all of the names back in for THE SECOND LOTTERY and the process will begin again.

While this is not a perfect system we do hope that it will be acceptable to all and hopefully we wont have to utilize it.  We are constantly looking for and speaking with possible volunteers or those that can help find volunteers.  However, if you as a member of our MOPS group find yourself having to work in the MOPPETS please remember the following:

So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel he had around him.......
After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked "Do you understand what I was doing? You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord' and you are right, because it is true. And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. How true it is that a servant is not greater than the master. Nor are messengers more important than the one who sends them. You know these things-now do them! That is the path of blessing." John 13: (4-5), (12-17)

In our MOPS group we hope that each of you finds the support that is needed.  In that, please know that sometimes you are called on to support your fellow MOPS moms as well and that sacrifice is greatly appreciated.
